  1. There are so many things to do in this stunning region, you can keep busy almost every day, or simply enjoy the sun and beach.

    Seasonal whale watching is truly amazing here; the migratory Humpback Whales come here during the winter months and are said to be at their most active. Hire a captained boat from the local guides, or spend a little more and have a guided tour by a marine biologist, either way you are almost guaranteed a treat.

    Diving and snorkeling are also amazing; the local Marietta Islands are with in a 15 minute boat trip and offer a myriad of great spots to dive and snorkel. Hidden caves, dramatic scenery and emerald green waters make for an unforgettable experience. You may also spot whales, dolphins, sea turtles blue footed boobies and giant manta rays.

    If the Islands are a far stretch, just don on your mask and snorkel from almost any where.

    Deep sea fishing is a favorite and in these warm waters, catching a whopper is certain. There are plenty of charters and smaller boats to choose from.

    Punta Mita is home to the famous Jack Nicklaus Championship golf course. Play 18 holes and enjoy the challenge of one of the world's best courses and the beauty of the surrounds.

    Horseback ride through lush jungle or along sandy beaches; most rides are around 2 hours and there are horses for all levels of experience.

    You can hire 4x quad bikes and dune - buggies if you feel the need for speed. Tours along the beaches can be organized also.

    Tennis is available within the Four Seasons; there is always a tennis pro on hand and a choice of court surfaces.

    This area is renowned for awesome surfing. There are waves for all levels and if you wish to learn, there are plenty of instructors to get you going. Ask the locals and they will point you in the right direction.

    You can also hire windsurfers, small boats, catamarans and kayaks.

    Canopy tours are a interesting way to see the jungle, rise up above the canopy and be blown away by the vista.

    At the end of a strenuous day of playing, the local restaurants offer a variety of delicious food and beverages. Most are set on the beach, so relax and watch the sunset while sipping a margarita.
